Job Summary
The Multimodal Learning group at the London Research Center is seeking a Research Engineering Intern to modularize, extend, speed-up, and improve well-established research project. The team is tackling ambitious projects focusing on layered and controllable generation and interleaved text-and-image/video generation. The ideal candidate would have strong coding skills and familiarity with a wide variety of computer vision models including but not limited to instance detection, instance segmentation, depth estimation, image inpainting, vision-language models and self-supervised vision models.
The team is looking for an ambitious Research Engineering Intern for a minimum of six months. The research engineering intern will conduct both academic and applied research to advance the state-of-the-art in multimodal modelling. All interns will work closely with the team and are expected to aim for publishing at top tier academic venues, transfer their work to Huawei products and/or file a patent based on their work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the extension, improvement and refactoring of the current version of the research project.
- Work with research scientists to develop possible extension, find pain points and address them.
- Collaborate with other team members to facilitate swift development from ideation to implementation.

Desired
- Hands on experience with instance detection, instance segmentation, depth estimation, image inpainting, vision-language models and self-supervised vision models is a plus.
- Pursuing PhD degree in computer science or related field.
- Experience with Gradio, RPyC, HuggingFace Transformers/Diffusers, PyTorch and Deep Learning profiling tools.
