Key Responsibilities:
• Strategic collaboration between Huawei and universities
o Insight into local science and technology development and university strategies: Gain insight into local science and technology strategies, policies, and their impact on Huawei; gain insight into the development status, problems and challenges, development strategies, and key work plans of local key universities in discipline construction, scientific research innovation, talent cultivation, and talent introduction. Analyze cooperation opportunities and key links or factors in government, universities, and professors in the process of establishing cooperation projects.
o University strategic planning collaboration: Have a deep understanding of Huawei's university cooperation strategy, relevant requirements for scientific research and talent cooperation, and cooperation key work plans, break down Huawei's strategy and cooperation requirements to specific universities, analyze the strategic gap between our company and universities. Matching with the strategy of universities and formulate the strategy of University-Huawei strategic collaboration based on local academic environment.
o Strategy alignment and execution: Establish effective connections with the scientific research, talent, ecosystem, and legal affairs departments of universities, regularly carry out strategic alignment activities between our company and senior executives of universities, and convey Huawei's scientific research and talent strategies, key challenges, and cooperation requirements to universities. Find long-term cooperation opportunities. Build active communication channels, continuously track strategic changes in colleges and universities, and respond to them in a timely manner.
• Academic Environment Construction and Management
o Unify Huawei's brand and contact person in universities: Serve as a unified contact person for university visits and invitations, ensure orderly collaboration and unified message for Huawei's joint scientific research, talent development, and ecosystem construction in universities, maintain Huawei's brand and image in universities, and improve the experience of university partners.
o Guide academic development direction: Establish and operate relationships with local academic resources, integrate into regional academic circles, and guide local academic circles to study Huawei's challenging topics by planning and participating in regional academic exchange activities, introducing strategic talent, and releasing visions and problems to generate high-value results.
o Develop innovative cooperation mechanisms and models: Adapt the corporate cooperation process to local laws and regulations and mainstream requirements of partners. Establish and maintain the evaluation and incentive mechanism and management methods that are conducive to cooperation, stimulate the enthusiasm of trainers to cooperate with Huawei, and innovate regional cooperation models and mechanisms.
o Ensure that cooperation activities comply with laws and regulations: Establish an assessment mechanism for local cooperation environment, track local laws and policies related to import and export control and technology investment, identify cooperation risks and give warnings in a timely manner, and work with legal affairs personnel, compliance personnel, and PACD to deal with local cooperation risks or crises in a timely manner.This job description is only an outline of the tasks, responsibilities and outcomes required of the role. Required:
- Profound knowledge of UK Academic Research Mechanism and Enterprise Research & Development Mechanism.
- Broad experience of University-Enterprise Cooperation, Familiar with Core Concepts and Key Links of University-Enterprise Cooperation.
- Experienced with team management.
- Experienced with Interpersonal and high-level social, Experience in handling PR crises.
- Knowledge of intellectual property rights and export control laws.
