Job Summary
Kirin platform is the groundbreaking SOC that powers Huawei mobile phone and other devices. In order to provide the best-possible experience for our customers, we’re looking for world class experts in Game Graphics.
As a Technical Artist contractor with the Kirin team, you will work alongside the Graphics & AI Algorithm teams to create interactive, visually appealing applications, scenes and training material. You will be working on projects that builds on cross-domain topics: AI, Computer Vision and Graphics. You will design scenes, cinematics and interactive applications to be used by the Kirin team in software development and research projects, focusing on creating malleable solutions that meet a large range of criteria. A successful candidate should have hands-on experience in Computer Graphics and Game Engines.
Job Purpose:
- Be responsible for Interactive Scene and Cinematic development in Game Engines, particularly Unreal Engine 5.
- Liaise with the Graphics & AI Algorithm and GPU software teams to generate applications that fit their needs.
Key Responsibilities:
1, Create Applications containing Scenes and Cinematics for use in research projects.
2, Implement basic interactivity and usability for the applications.
3, Where necessary integrate graphics algorithms into the applications in-engine.
4, Provide tooling as required within the applications in-engine.

Required:
- 4+ years of experience working in real-time rendering engines, especially Unreal Engine and Unity.
- Understanding of industry standard game-design practices.
- Applicable knowledge of programming or scripting in-engine.
- Experience with shader/material creation (HLSL/GLSL or UE5/Unity Material graph)
- Participated in the full development cycle of mobile/PC game(s) starting from basic prototypes through to release.
- Bachelor’s/MSc/Phd degree in relevant disciplines such as Game Design, Computer Science or Computer Graphics (etc.)
- A passion for graphics and games or real-time rendering technology.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Good written and spoken English.
Desired:
- Proficiency in industry-standard 3D modelling software such as Blender, Maya or 3DS Max.
- Proficiency with graphics programming languages such as OpenGL, Vulkan or DirectX.
- Understanding of graphics programming lighting techniques such as deferred rendering and ray-tracing, and/or understanding of image processing techniques such as Bloom, DoF blur, super-resolution and frame-generation.
