Project Background
openEuler is an open-source operating system developed by Huawei, designed to serve as a digital infrastructure platform. It supports various application scenarios, including servers, cloud computing, edge computing, and embedded systems, aiming to provide a secure, stable, and user-friendly operating environment. To accelerate the development of the openEuler ecosystem and enhance its AI capabilities, we are seeking academically talented individuals with a background in competitive programming for a three-month internship. Interns will be responsible for porting leading AI open-source frameworks, such as Serverless LLM, to the openEuler operating system and Ascend platform. This initiative aims to expand the openEuler ecosystem and promote its widespread adoption in AI applications, particularly in AI serving environments.
openEuler
Project Objectives
- Port Leading AI open-source Software Platforms to openEuler: Engage interns to successfully migrate popular AI open-source frameworks, such as Serverless LLM, to the openEuler operating system and Ascend hardware platform.
- Foster openEuler Ecosystem Growth: Utilize the migration of AI open-source frameworks to broaden the openEuler ecosystem, showcasing its robust capabilities in AI domains, especially in AI serving environments.
- Develop Future Talent: Collaborate with award-winning students to deepen their understanding of openEuler and AI technologies, nurturing the next generation of professionals in AI operating system development.
Project Plan
- Month 1: Focus on learning the fundamentals of the openEuler operating system, Ascend platform, and related AI open-source frameworks. Acquire necessary programming skills and contribute to community documentation.
- Month 2: Begin migrating AI open-source frameworks (e.g., Serverless LLM) to the openEuler environment, leveraging the advantages of the Ascend platform for performance optimization.
- Month 3: Complete the migration, conduct performance optimizations and testing, and prepare technical documentation and summary reports.
Outcome Presentation
- Before the internship concludes, interns will develop a project showcase website (e.g., using Grafana) to display their development projects and share technical insights and experiences.
- These projects can be published on openEuler open-source platforms or promoted through blogs and forums to increase openEuler's visibility in the AI field.
