Job Summary
Huawei London Research Centre is looking at for a Research Intern with experience in 3D computer vision, neural rendering and graphics. We wish to recruit a candidate to conduct innovative research into dynamic 3d reconstruction, with an emphasis in solving open challenges related to casual captures, as well as efficient reconstruction and inference.
The research intern will conduct academic research with us for a minimum of six months. The ideal candidate will have prior hands-on experience on differentiable/neural rendering, gaussian splatting, SLAM or other related fields, and would be highly motivated to submit a paper during the duration of the internship.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and benchmark the state-of-the-art.
- Design and execute cutting edge research for applications on dynamic 3d reconstruction with emphasis on efficiency and casual capture.
- Design, prototype and patent innovative solutions in collaboration with product teams.
- Contribute to top-tier academic publications, open-source and ecosystem building.

Person Specification:
- Required:
- 2nd Year PhD or above in Computer Vision or related field (Machine Learning, Computer Graphics).
- Hands-on experience with 3D computer vision and differentiable rendering.
- First-authored publications in top-tier conferences, e.g. CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, Siggraph, Siggraph Asia.
- Strong coding skills: able to quickly prototype in Python and PyTorch.
- Excellent communication and writing skills.
- Desired:
- Passionate about 3D imaging and computational photography.
- Experience working in industry and collaborating with product teams.
- Direct hands-on experience with neural rendering, gaussian splatting, and/or complex data capture set-ups.
- Experience designing and developing research projects.
- Experience with cloud computing (e.g. docker, Unix environments).
