Job Summary

Huawei R&D UK is seeking a highly skilled and innovative Technology Planning Expert to join our dynamic team. This role focuses on driving large-scale research breakthroughs in terminal intelligence, including but not limited to the integration of LLM and OS, universal AI models, multi-modal models, and model compression and optimization. You will stay ahead of industry trends, incubate future technologies, and plan the technological layout for the short, medium, and long term.

Key Responsibilities:

• Delivering large-scale research breakthroughs, focusing on technologies related to terminal intelligence, including but not limited to the integration of LLM and OS, universal AI basic large models, multi-modal large models, and model compression and optimization.
• Keeping a keen eye on industry trends and key technologies in the field of terminal intelligence, incubating the 2–3-year trends and complete the technological layout planning for the long, medium, and short term.
• Expanding the research-side algorithms into business top-level design, opening new avenues, etc.

Person Specification:

• Required:

1. Have in-depth academic research capabilities and research achievements in the field of AI (natural language processing, computer vision, and decision reasoning, etc.). Have rich innovative practical experience in technology research and projects, deeply observe and analyze the technical competitiveness and solutions of the top AI products in the industry (including but not limited to GPT4, Gemini, Claude, and Kimi), and output the 1–3-year plan for the terminal AI intelligent direction with competitiveness.
2. Have certain experience in the AI landing end-side technology, certain understanding of the industry AI large model landing end-side and chip hardware requirements, and promote the landing of terminal intelligent products.
3. Keeping abreast of the academic and industrial research trends in the AI field. Having certain influence in the AI research field, being able to quickly obtain industry technical resources and transform them into internal competitiveness.
4. Being able to understand the business value behind the mainstream technical routes in the industry and their impact on the company's AI research strategy. Identifying the company's technological innovation opportunities and challenges.
